This engraving was inspired by an encounter with a wonderful Barn Owl last summer. It appeared from across a field beside the path I was on, low and quite deliberate in its flight. Our paths converging until the owl flaired over me and continued it's flight away across the field the otherside of the path. I have deliberatly tried to capture the light of that early summers evening in this engraving.
As with all my prints everyone is individually printed by hand, direct form the block onto acid free hand made paper. Printed in an edition of 100, the lemon wood block measures 120mm x 85mm.
